We’re almost at the halfway mark with this project.
The Kitchen Crowd is a bit more ambitious than the Patio project, to say the least; we are trying to raise almost the same amount, but in half the time. The reason for this? Mainly because shorter crowdfunding projects are more successful at reaching the public’s attention and the ultimate goal… which in our case will be a serious kitchen serving seriously good food.
Other reasons for a shorter project? We have a bunch of stuff to focus on in the next little bit. Mostly, bringing in and setting up Nomad Gourmet Food Truck over this weekend and re-opening the restaurant as a Street Food Vendor from Wednesday the 20th to March 2nd. Nomad is going to be our kitchen for nearly 2 weeks while we refit our cooking facilities with a new floor, walls, and gear.
Then, The Coast Awards! Winning Best Restaurant the last two years running, and having Mark place 3rd for Best Chef last year has us working harder than ever to offer award-winning food and atmosphere to everyone out there. We definitely want to repeat that performance. We’re also very hard at work making sure Ace Burger Co., our little, street-wise brother, gets Best Burger this year.
And finally, we’ve kicked up our Monthly Menu Series as a Valentine’s Day Prix-Fixx, so get in on the action this week, for sure! Here’s a thought, you could even join the crowdfund and give your reward out as a Valentine to friends or family. They’ll love you for it!
So, all this ‘hard work’ really means there’s some serious food hitting the table and the streets in the NorthEnd!
On that note:
A couple of funny yet not so curious things are developing. One, about 56% of the supporters of this fund live within walking distance of the resto; by the end of last year’s project, over 80% were from the neighborhood. We’re seeing more donations coming from Dartmouth this time round; very cool! Secondly, we have a bunch of returning supporters already! And that’s the best part, for sure! It’s recognition that the rewards are worthy of the support. Check it out here.
Ambitious? Sure.
Hard Work? Yes.
Worth It? Absolutely!
