So, the final hour is fast approaching for this, our second crowdfunding project, where you get to help us fix up the joint and we get to fix you up with a great meal in return.
To date, we’ve received $11,550 in contributions toward our goal of $28,000. That will go directly to several trades and local businesses for their part in refitting our kitchen; this includes Russ Vining Mechanical, Burnside Flooring (FloorsPlus), CB Electric, Alpha Plumbing & Heating, and of course, Nomad Gourmet Food for supplying us with a temporary kitchen for the past week.
We truly appreciate the time sensitive and professional work they have provided us. We still have a great deal of work to do by Tuesday for Wednesday’s reopening, including getting our new cooking equipment delivered and installed by Monday, along with finalizing our gas hookup by Wilson’s Fuels and our fire suppression system by Don Brentons Fire Protection.
All of this is happening in a big way because of those who have already contributed to this fund; people just like you, who came to this site, read about what we’re doing with this project, and decided it was worth their support. In return, we give back a great meal in kind with a bunch of added value, which we consider ‘interest’ for the support. We’d rather pay this back to our customers, our supporters, YOU, than to a bank. It just makes perfect sense when you look at it from the perspective of local economies and community building.
